In 1980, Oscar Jacobson is appointed Purveyor to the Court by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf. We have had that title ever since.

To become a Purveyor to the Court is an honorary appointment given to a company as proof that the company’s products or services are appreciated by a member of the Royal Family. Court purveyorship is granted by His Majesty the King. Providing products to the Royal Family by your own initiative will not make you a Purveyor to the Court. The purchase order must come from the court, which of course will pay for its products.

In order to be able to apply to become a Purveyor to the Court, the company must have provided the court with products or services for at least five years. Furthermore, the finances must have been handled without any remark.

The Royal Court of Sweden will issue a diploma to the company in question upon request, and the company is also authorised to use the Purveyor to the Court emblem in its marketing. The emblem consists of the Great Coat of Arms, with a text that reads By appointment to H.M. the King of Sweden.

Several companies within the same industry can be appointed Purveyor to the Court.

The Court Purveyorship is personally linked to the company’s CEO or equivalent. Providing products to the Royal Family by your own initiative will not make you a Purveyor to the Court. The title Purveyor to the Court is personally tied to the CEO of the company, so if he or she resigns, the company must once again apply to become a Purveyor to the Court.
