The 3-day Wedding

Our Guide to the 3-day Wedding

Our Guide to the 3-day Wedding

A three-day wedding means different dress codes and at least three outfit changes. Here is Oscar Jacobson's guide to dressing correctly and with style throughout the wedding weekend, from arrival to the final brunch.

A linen suit is a natural choice for the season, unless no other dress code has been specified. It sets the right tone from the very first moment and suits both formal and more relaxed occasions. Travelling on the same day? Dress up before you leave and arrive in style. A suit in linen or a linen blend is always the perfect choice for the start of a wedding weekend.

Wedding Day: Ceremony and Celebration

On the wedding day, follow the stated dress code. Read our dress code guide when choosing what to wear to the ceremony. One rule always applies: never try to outshine the couple.

If the dress code is black tie, a bow tie is a must. It can be loosened later in the evening, but only once the groom has led the way. If the dress code is not black tie, we recommend a dark or navy suit. Choose an exclusive fabric that suits a celebration and a special occasion, such as a wedding. For summer weddings, an elegant and breathable fabric, such as linen, always works beautifully both in a suit and as a shirt. We have a wide range of colours in our collection this season - making it possible to create endless variations.

Departure Day: Brunch

Read the atmosphere and mood from the first days and dress accordingly. A linen suit or blazer with a pair of chinos and a linen shirt works equally well in a coastal setting, a garden or a city hotel. Pack a few extra options and remember that you can never be too well-dressed. It's always better to have packed one piece too many than one too few. Not sure what to wear?
