We followed the stylist and fashion profile Richard Ntege at Paris Fashion Week where he wore a Custom-Made suit from Oscar Jacobson. We talked about his thoughts when choosing to tailor a suit for the occasion and, of course, his must-haves in Paris.
Richard wore a gray pinstripe suit with a wide fit. He had significantly shortened the jacket for a more urban look. The trousers were also wide and long.
As one of Sweden's foremost stylists, what were your considerations when creating a custom-made suit, what was important to you?
Creating a custom-made suit is about having an individual style for me. I focused on merging Oscar Jacobson's traditional craftsmanship with my personal touch, creating something one-of-a-kind and special.
When do you wear this type of suit?
I can wear this type of suit to formal occasions, but also casually. From fine dinners to everyday use.
What kind of fabric is it? Why did you choose it?
A fine blend of wool, which gives a luxurious feel while allowing freedom of movement.
What inspires you when choosing clothes?
I draw inspiration from life itself. Architecture, art, and culture are my primary museums. Creating a story with each garment is the key to a meaningful and thoughtful style.
Have you seen anything new in Paris that inspires you moving forward?
Absolutely, Paris always surprises. I have been fascinated by the subtle details in haute couture and how they can redefine the boundaries of fashion. It's these small moments of innovation that drive me to evolve as a creator.
